Key roles and responsibilities include:
* Delivering care according to each individual's needs and care plan.
* Assisting with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and medication where appropriate.
* Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
* Maintaining accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records.
* Following infection prevention and control procedures to reduce the spread of illness.
* Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children by recognising and reporting concerns.
* Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion while treating everyone with respect.
* Supporting patients' rights, choices, and independence.
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated care.
* Following health and safety policies to protect patients, colleagues, and themselves.
* Participating in ongoing training and professional development to maintain skills and knowledge.
* Reporting accidents, incidents, and concerns promptly in line with workplace policies.
Healthcare workers are expected to act professionally, maintain confidentiality, follow legal and ethical guidelines, and always put the safety and wellbeing of those in their care first.
